Lawyer Donald Kipkorir is officially off the bachelors club after the flashy lawyer Saturday paid his fiancé Noni Weru's bride price at a ruracio at her affluent family home in Chaka, Nyeri County.
Through the marriage, Kipkorir will now have ties to former President Kibaki's family whose son Tony Kibaki has married Noni's sister.
The guest list at the ceremony read like a political and legal who's who including former anti-graft agency boss PLO Lumumba and prominent Nyeri politicians Engineer Ephraim Maina and Ngunjiri Wambugu and athlete Paul Tergat.
And the parking lot was no different, populated by more Range Rovers and Land Cruisers than you would see at the parking space outside parliament and three choppers.
His mother in law is Lucy Weru, a prominent Nyeri entrepreneur who is reported to have once ordered CORD principal Raila Odinga out of her establishment in Karatina.
The budget for the ceremony is said to have run into millions of shillings with the catering alone accounting for Sh2 million. It was not yet clear how much dowry was settled between the two families.
By the time of going to press members of the two families were still negotiating but sources within Donald's family said the lawyer was prepared to part with "an arm and a leg".
Unlike Donald who keeps little of his life away from social media, there is scanty information on his new wife aside from that she is a divorcee and mother of two girls.
Donald is reported to have gotten engaged to Noni aboard an Emirates Airline flight in December.
