News
 Aika and Nahreel

The dynamic duo Navy Kenzo have revealed that they are dating. Yup, the Tanzanian duo which comprises of Aika and Nahreel have been together for eight years!

The two met in India while pursuing their undergraduate degrees; Aika was focusing on Business Administration while Nahreel was pursuing Computer Science.

Navy Kenzo which took the Kenyan market by storm with their club banger ‘Kamatia Chini’ are in the country ahead of the Pulse Music Video Awards happening tomorrow, Thursday night at the Serena. The group will headline the highly anticipated gala.

Aika and Nahreel in an exclusive interview with SDE opened up about their personal life and how they deal with the celebrity life as a couple.

“We went into the industry as a couple so we have not let anything influence the love and respect we have for each other. Our shared love for music has also helped greatly in our journey,” Aika says.

Navy Kenzo broke into the market with a different sound from the popular bongo music that is common in Tanzania. Their fusion of Swahili and English in dancehall styled music proved to be a hit in the country and the region as a whole.

Nahreel who is one of Tanzania’s top producers pointed out that they were determined to roll out something different.

“We needed to try something unique. No one had done it before in Tanzania but we decided to jump into it,” Nahreel said.

They also released a new song last week ‘Feel Good’ featuring Wildad which has already reveived over half a million views on youtube.

“We are excited to perform it here in Kenya and hope our fans here will enjoy it,” Aika chuckles.

The duo is also hoping to collabo with Kenyan artistes who they think are successful in their unique styles.

“The music scene here is very diverse and we wish we could work with many of them especially Elani, Sauti Sol, Khaligraph and others.”

They will also be dropping their first album, AIM, in a few weeks which will feature big acts like Ali Kiba, Pato Ranking among others.

What should Kenyans expect from them tomorrow?

“Fayaaaaaaa,” they both exclaim.
