I am an orphan; I did not choose to be an orphan. My parents died and left me all alone in this world and my relatives don’t want anything to do with me.
I live and sleep in the streets everyday waiting and begging for a Good Samaritan to give me something to feed my stomach.
Sometimes I get so hungry and when I ask someone for food they abuse me and push me away. Other people go to the extent of hitting me. What wrong did I do?
I don’t have parents to love me like you do. I want to go to school, dress and eat well but I can’t because of who I am.
The streets get so cold at night but there is nothing I can do since I don’t have any shelter. I cry every day because that is the only hobby I can come up with apart from begging.
I am only human, just like you. Only difference is that I am an orphan. Please, do not dismiss me when I come to you for help, do not hit me when I beg you for food because it is I who understand how it feels to be an orphan.
God has a plan for me, He always does. The right moment will come for me to rise and shine, I pray that moment comes.
Kenyans please, I cry, help us out. No one knows tomorrow.
