A few days ago, my wife was travelling from the US after a family engagement.
With her meticulousness, she parked all her things in several bags ensuring everything was in place before departure. But before she could catch her first flight to London via Chicago, a storm brought air traffic into a halt. What started as a delay became cancellation and in a few hours, her entire flight itinerary was thrown into disarray.
With the inevitable alterations came along the hurdles of moving passengers and their luggage to other flights, while ensuring their connecting flights were subsequently adjusted. In what ended up to be one of the longest journeys, my wife eventually got home — exhausted and worn out after travelling for 40 hours.
When she landed in Nairobi, we thought the drama was over, only to be confronted with another episode of disappointment — her bags were nowhere to be found.
Fatigue turned into worry and worry into desperation. They couldn’t be traced in the system and no one could even confirm they were loaded in the US in the first place. The next several days became grueling moments of international calls, airport visits, checking and counter-checking every cargo station and to my precious wife, it now became a prayer item!
Nothing – not even the suggestion of compensation by the airline, seemed to appease her heart. All she wanted were her bags. And after immense and relentless pursuit, the bags came, I was left with a precious lesson.
It is possible for what rightly belongs to you to be stranded in a faraway country, disconnected and kept away from you. You can be separated from what belongs to you because of a storm, not of your own design or a battle not of your own choosing. Your inheritance and indeed your possessions, can be floating around somewhere with no rightful owner laying claim.
Systems and people may be making it even harder to trace and claim your blessing, but that does not negate the fact that it still belongs to you.
You can lose hold of your promise and become detached from your goods because of situations, and circumstances. That is life.
There are things that belong to you, but life has stolen them and hidden them away from you. Some of them are hidden in plain sight, others were detoured by evil orchestrations and never got to you in the first place.
Somebody is sitting on your due promotion and you don’t know it.
What if the thing you are struggling to get, so as to make your life complete, has already been provided for you and all your need is to know how to get it? Many times we are separated from what is rightly ours. We live a life of perpetual frustration not because solutions and answers to our questions don’t exist, but because between us and them stands ignorance, mental blindness or hindrances and barriers that are opposed to our completeness.
In fact, people perish not because the devil is bad, but because of ignorance. You see, people fail to take up supernatural opportunities to apprehend their God-given things because of valid, justifiable and logical excuses and reasons. But after the opportunity passes, history does not remember your excuses, it remembers your cowardice! If you do not pursue something that belongs to you; with prayer, passion and faith, it can belong to somebody else and life moves on. Regardless of how the separation happened, what is yours still belongs to you! To fight for it is the right thing to do no matter the hurdles, the battles and the inner voice that markets giving up as a viable and convenient alternative.
Even if you were to be compensated, there is no one, and no amount of compensation that can be sufficient to replace or substitute the value that your life has attached to the stuff that is missing.
Compensation may soothe but cannot satisfy. You cannot live for the joy of compensation, you must live with and for the original reward!
God’s original intention is always His final verdict! No one should pay you enough to sell your birth right! To forgo your rightful inheritance is really to destabilise the original intention and plan of God for you. There is a divine chemistry that only exists between you and your things. What is yours should not escape your hand unless you cow away from claiming it. You are lost without it and it is lost without you!
I pray that every missing thing in your life becomes located and restored back to you! You are designed to be whole — to be sound: spirit, soul and body. You are designed to enjoy blessing without restrictions, exceptions or exemptions. Wholeness means containing all components, being complete, not divided or disjointed, not wounded, injured or impaired. This is the fullness of life that is intended for every one of us.
