Ivy Wangari boarded a matatu from Laikipia University, heading to Nyahururu, on January 18, 2016.
The third year Information Science student had just completed her exam. This was the last time she was seen, and it has been seven long agonising months for family and friends.
And now her parents have exhausted all the avenues open to them. After Ivy failed to return from her shopping trip, they involved the University, which conducted investigations among her friends and classmates.
They notified the authorities in Nyahururu and continued to communicate regularly with university security. The police helped track Ivy’s phone, and even obtained call data from it, but no useful information was unearthed. She had switched it off just before heading into the exam room.
Her parents, Jacinta Kabutho and Simon Ngatia, are now appealing for any information that would help track their daughter down. In spite of everything, they are still hopeful of recovering Ivy.
