Donald Trump thrilled by President Barack Obama's brother Malik endorsement

News
Donald Trump (Left) has been endorsed by Barack Obama's half-brother Malik

US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is gratified by his endorsement from President Barack Obama's half brother, Malik Obama.

Mr Trump said be believed that President Obama had treated Mr Malik badly "like everybody else..." without elaborating further.

The Mailonline reported that Trump had tweeted to indicate he was aware Malik had expressed support for him, and suggested that the President had mistreated him.

The report also suggests that Malik's estrangement with the US President was partly caused by his alleged links with radical Islamic groups, including Hamas, which is listed in the US as a terrorist group.

The tweet attributed to Trump said: "Wow, President Obama's brother, Malik, just announced that he is voting for me. Was probably treated badly by the President - like everybody else!"

On Sunday, the New Post reported that Malik, 58, had announced he will vote for Trump against Hillary Clinton to protest his brother's and the Democratic Party's foreign and domestic policies.

Malik was quoted declaring "great disappointment" in his brother's administration and the Democratic Party, which he (Malik) has supported in the past, for their support of same-sex marriages and Obama's foreign policy that led to the assassination of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.

Malik is also quoted railing against the US President for allegedly showing little interest in his Kenyan family and declining to support his campaign in the Siaya gubernatorial race in 2013. In the report, Malik also says his half brother had not supported the Barack H Obama Foundation, which was founded in their late father's memory.

Malik, who studied and worked in the US as an accountant, is eligible to vote in the state of Maryland where he plans to cast the ballot for Trump.

He was quoted suggesting on Sunday that the US government under Barack Obama and Clinton as Secretary of State was responsible for the assassination of Gaddafi in 2012.
