Rio Ferdinand reveals the bizarre and very unhygienic superstition he carried out on matchday

News

Rio Ferdinand has revealed the bizarre and quite positively unhygienic superstition he used to carry out as a footballer.

After discussing Gabor Kiraly's tracksuit fashion choice - which apparently the Hungarian vowed to wear after a blunder he made when wearing shorts - Lineker asked his pundits if they had any supersitions.

Theirry Henry and Danny Murphy both said no, but in the video above, Rio Ferdinand admitted he was a very superstitious footballer.

Not only would he pour water over his head in the tunnel and jump on the pitch, he also did something quite disgusting.

He would NOT wear boxers on matchday...

What happens if his shorts rose up during a challenge? Well, we suppose it brings new meaning to the sliding tackle...
