Tanzanians Elizabeth Michael and Single Mtambalike did East Africa proud in the movie industry after excelling in Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA), in a gala held at Eko Hotel and Suites Convention Centre in Nigeria.
Popularly known as Rich, Mtambalike’s Kitendawili movie was awarded as the Best Local Language (Swahili) film in the continent.
Elizabeth Michael, who is popularly known as Lulu, stamped her authority in the continental movie industry through her movie, Mapenzi, which was named the Best Eastern Africa Movie.
Both artistes showered their appreciation to their fans, supporters and organisers and the artists in the bongo movie for their success.
“Thanks to Almighty God for providing me the opportunity to win, I also thank my fans, the bongo movie fraternity and my family, and I am glad we made it,” said an emotional Lulu on receiving her award.
