Reggae fans are known for being die-hard supporters of their music and culture. They will preach their ‘gospel’ to anyone who cares to listen and are not afraid to spot the reggae colours.
A popular mathree in Kiambu, Ruff Cuts, is receiving the right attention, thanks to its reggae inspired look.
Operating under GT Sacco, the mathree, spots reggae colours, has screaming photos of the father of reggae, Burning Spears and Bob Marley.
Speaking to Ma3 Culture, Tonny Kangethe one of the crew said; “We have been in operation for the past two years. Business has been good, but after we did a bit of pimping up with the reggae-inspired look, passengers flock our mathree. Tuko na mabeste (We have so many friends) ,” he said.
Ruff Cuts boasts of a 42-inch LED screen and passengers enjoy pure reggae videos only.
“For security, our mathree is satellite tracked. It has two woofers and a laser stage lighting that displays different colours at night,” he said.
