After a video surfaced showing the kidero plants being uprooted, Kenyans are not a happy lot. They have come out demanding an explanation from the county government.
While the exact location of the alleged uprooting is not verified, footage points to a section of Uhuru Highway headed towards Waiyaki Way.
Using the Hashtag #KideroGrass, the good people of Kenya have reacted in their own angry, frustrated and humorous way.
@SIRIliciously: #KideroGrass plants were "planted" or placed?
@okollalvinous: it’s time for the grass to take a break from the limelight.#kiderograss
@OUMASTEVE1: #KideroGrass Is being taken to a store 4 safety till the 2days to the pope's arrival..maasai cows are around remember...
@Muchaiki: Don't you worry the #KideroGrass will be back for the Pope!!
@BerylOkundi: No one is uprooting #KideroGrass. Contractor is restoring the ground inorder to do proper planting.
@antoneosoul: There is more grass on my TL than there is on Uhuru Highway! #KideroGrass
@Nimo_lisa: Now i understand why they were planted few days to POTUS visit #Kiderograss was on hire
@seancardo: From #KideroGrass to the 'missing' 67 billion Shillings to @KenyaAirways record loss.. I wonder why I bother waking up in the mornings.
@984inthemorning: It's not true that #KideroGrass was uprooted and taken to rehab because it couldn't handle the pressure.
@itssoulo says #KideroGrass were on strike due to unpaid allowances. The grass has now been sent home on unpaid leave.
@BrianmburuLee: #KideroGrass FOR HIRE !!! Fresh!!!
@AAsirigwa: #KideroGrass Itabidi tujitolee tupande grass mitaani wenyewe. There is nothing constructive NCC can do for the city. Even planting grass.
@skariithi: Maybe the contractor was denied payment for the grass not "growing in 3 days." #KideroGrass
@SheilaKomen: @KideroEvans please tell us your grass and flowers were not for hire as the owners are busy retrieving them #KideroGrass #KideroFlowers
@markimwa: SAD! #KideroGrass caved in with all the pressure. It must be in a quiet rehab in the bowels of Limuru thinking about many many things.
