During her crown handover last weekend, outgoing university queen Joan Musumba hit the red carpet late, two hours into the ceremony to the shock of many.
She stood out in a red Cinderella dress designed by Ian Victor who struggled through the red carpet with the Kenyatta University beauty as the two tried to capture a paparazzi moment way from the auditorium where the event was already underway.
“It was my moment,” Joan later told Pulse suggesting that she could have arrived late, intentionally, to steal the show. “It was a great dress and I wanted people to see it. I was coming to hand over the crown so what’s wrong with a little attention on such a day,” she joked.
This year’s Miss University edition was won by a 28-year-old Nigerian student from USIU, Irene Jima while David Julius from Daystar was crowned Mr University.
