If there is a Kenyan female musician who has triumphed over the odds and come out looking sassy and unscathed, that would have to be Akothee who still wears sassy booty shorts and rocks the stage whenever she steps up to perform her dholuo hits.
Seeing her on stage would quickly convince one that she’s danced all her life but No! Having been married off at 14 years old, dumped with four children and worked as a taxi driver, Akothee has seen it all. But her recent photos reveal that she might be “in love” with an energetic light skin lad who evidently looks way younger than her.
Flaunting the love on social media, Akothee showed photos of the two in a luxurious hotel, having lunch, dinner and living the life. As if to drive the point home Akothee said:
“Haa baby number six loading, we are happy at the moment. Why are some people complaining? I never saw my dad and mum kissing, but I was already pregnant at the age of 14 so? Leave my ?#bigfive out of your jelousy, they are happy for me! And waiting for their brother so that we have an even number Haa ?#bougerle”
Well, could she be in love?
