As Mombasa-based singer Kidis prepares to release the track that has been the theme song for the new, popular Mshamba TV show, trouble is brewing over the ownership of the single.
The song happens to be the brainchild of Mshamba, the comedian behind the Mshamba show on KTN, and therefore Mshamba was expected to own the rights to the song, a matter that has taken him and the singer back to the drawing board.
Kidis went ahead to record the song and video as the Monday show became popular and he has already announced that he is launching it in a week’s time.
“Kidis is my friend and we have had a good working relationship. This is a small matter. Nothing is out of hand,” Mshamba told Pulse on Wednesday.
“It is true I funded the recording and Kidis knows that. That is why we are consulting each other,” he added.
