After breaking the news that she was engaged to her millionaire boyfriend Brian Muiruri 11 months ago, popular about-town TV girl and entrepreneur Risper Faith married the hunk in a lavish wedding held in Nairobi on Saturday.
Attended by family members and friends from across the continent, the big day oozed class, glamour and showbiz as the crème de la crème of showbiz formed the guest list.
Among those in attendance at the private affair were rapper CMB Prezzo and bad boy of showbiz Shaffie Weru, who was also the emcee of the day.
It was a joyful event as the two exchanged rings, vows and a kiss before their guests.
The two have been together since Brian returned from the United States about a year ago and after getting engaged late last year, it was clear that there was no stopping the two from walking the aisle together as critics had suggested.
Faith, who has been a hot sell in popular TV reality show Nairobi Diaries, had maintained that she was truly in love while naysayers dismissed her, alluding that she was only after her boyfriend’s big money.
And talking of money, the two were gifted with a prime property in Nairobi by Brian’s mother as well as a holiday home. Other lavish gifts flowed freely.
“This is a big day for us and we appreciate your presence,” the two told the 200 invited guest in their appreciation speech.
Brian introduced himself to Risper four years ago through a social media post. He dropped her a line in her inbox, pampering her with sweet words and promising to travel from the US to Nairobi to meet her.
‘A joke’
“I thought it was a joke because I get a lot of that kind of mail. After responding to him two months later, he came over and I realised after meeting him that he was serious,” Risper disclosed to this writer a year ago.
“Back then, I was living in Kiambu and he had to spend a night in my house after which he promised to move me to Kilimani, where I now live. It has taken time for us to get to where we are now. I only agreed to let my heart go when he introduced me to his family,” she added.
