Felix Kiprono made a big sacrifice with his dowry offer of 70 sheep, 50 cows and 30 goats to get a nod from President Obama whose 16-year-old daughter Malia he wanted for a wife. It was like selling one’s soul.
With compassion, Kiprono, a lawyer, poured his heart out, detailing how he had long dreamed of marrying Malia after Cupid's arrows struck him back in 2008.
“I got interested in her in 2008,” he said. “As a matter of fact, I haven’t dated anyone since and promise to be faithful to her.”
And how timely this was: Obama was coming to Kenya and Kiprono pleaded with him: “Please, have Malia accompany you for this trip.” A "no please" is all Kiprono got...And who was surprised!
