Two days after the Football Kenya Federation (FKE) held its Annual General Meeting to make way for the FKE polls slated for October-November this year, philanthropic investor Gor Semelang'o has intimated he could be vying for the federation's top seat currently held by the embattled president Sam Nyamweya.
MondayBlues can reveal that the former Youth Fund chairman secretly met a group of soccer administrators in a Nairobi hotel on Saturday to sell his FKE presidency agenda. The meeting was also attended by youth leaders and local musicians who are said to be part of his campaign team.
"I have been supporting local soccer through sponsoring clubs for as long as I can remember and the meeting was one of those ones I regularly hold with football stakeholders. The idea of me running for the FKE presidency came up in the meeting but that remains just that," Gor responded, adding; "There is need for change. However, the change is in the hands of the people. I will make my intentions know when the right time comes."
