Voters salivating over looming Boni Khalwale, Oparanya bullfight

The bullfight: Boni has challenged Governor Wycliffe Oparanya

Combative Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale wants the governor’s flag on his car and he is not mincing his words.

“Governor Wycliffe Oparanya made nu-procedural payment of Sh200 million to cane farmers through a businessman. This money eventually went into other people’s pockets, not farmers’.

The money should be refunded to the county’s kitty or this matter will eventually lower governor Oparanya to his political grave in 2017, as I, Boni Mtetezi, the people’s defender, steps in as governor with Benjamin Washiali as my able running mate,”

Khalwale declared in what sounded as a war cry in readiness for a battle in the Kakamega 2017 gubernatorial race between him and his nemesis Oparanya at a funeral in Matungu.

But a defiant Oparanya laughed off Khalwale’s threats, describing him as posing “no competition.”

He vowed to send him into political oblivion. “Khalwale, I don’t fear you. I would beat you even if elections were called today,” Oparanya boasted at another funeral where Khalwale had again sounded another war cry of flooring the ODM deputy party leader Oparanya in ODM primaries should the former switch his allegiance to UDF.

Former PC Paul Olando and businessman Simbauni Ndombi are also eyeing the seat.
