I graduated in November last year from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication(KIMC) in Nairobi.
Family
I was born and raised in Kajiado where I was influenced by the rich and intoxicating culture of the Maasai people. My family consists of five step siblings and I’m an only child between my father and mother. My parents separated while I was young and was solely raised by my father.
Achievements
During my undergraduate diploma course and subsequent attachment at Iqra FM, I was highly recognized by my peers and editors as one of the most accomplished and skilled journalist in news presentation and reporting. I was further noted for my role in spearheading feature stories including but not limited to poaching, my efforts uncovered the corrupt dealings in institutions that propagate the said vice.
I have done a lot of humanitarian work and served as the youth chairperson for the Kenya Red Cross Society Kajiado county branch, for a period of 2 years where my responsibilities included monitoring and evaluating different projects and mainly helping the local community
Meanwhile, I have been a freelance photographer for various news outlets.
I possess good interpersonal communication and teamwork skills which were put to test during my attachment at the Kenya News Agency (KNA) in Kajiado county where I undertook various tasks that exposed me to harsh conditions.
Hobbies
Travelling, cooking, playing soccer and watching movies.
I also enjoy reading and learning about different cultures.
I have personally come up with a few original recipes that I happened to create while just experimenting in the kitchen and hopefully write a recipe book in future.
Pets
I am a cat lover and I currently have three cats at home namely Mittens, Ella and Kora. At some point I had a total of six cats but it was a lot of responsibility so I had to give away three kittens in a very emotional send off.
Childhood Memory
I absolutely have the urge to go for something that I believe in or I want. When I was young right about 10 years old I would sneak out the house and teach myself how to ride a bicycle using a very huge ‘black mamba’ bicycle that used to be home and it was quite a challenge since my short legs could not peddle but I did not give up so I would kick the peddles to be able to move and eventually after a falling so many times I finally knew how to ride a bicycle.
Guilty pleasure
My guilty pleasure is chocolate. I cannot resist having chocolate at any time in any amount. I have to have a bar of chocolate everyday and the addiction is real.
Interesting Facts
First of all I would say I am a sensitive person and small things hurt me to the core and surprisingly enough big things don’t bite me as much as small hurtful things. I am also a very sentimental person
Philosophies
I believe in the law of attraction that simply we attract whatever we think about good or bad.
I spend 15 minutes every day thinking about my goals dreams and what I want from life and believe this gears me towards success.
I also strongly believe that prayer is the key to everything and putting God first in everything I do has always led me to attainment.
