Bishop Ben Bahati's family seek assistance from Kenyans

Local News

Bishop Bahati

By Sheila Kimani (@Sheilakimm)

Having been a mentor and spiritual father to many Christians, news of Bishop Bahati’s death last evening 3/11/2014 was received with deep sorrow.

After been in the Intensive Care Unit for three months, the Bishop who courageously fought for his life succumbed to his injuries, in what is believed to have been a sudden cardiac arrest.

“I saw the Bishop go through the ordeal in strength and confidence that he would make it through and that kept us hopeful. His memory shall forever remain in our hearts.” Ole Willy who shared a personal relationship with him mentioned.

Soon after the news got to the public domain, those who had interacted with the revered Bishop took to social media to pass their heartfelt tributes and comfort his family through the trying period.

But it now seems that unity and togetherness is needed especially during this time when the family is needed to offset his hospital bill which is believed to be well over Sh3 million shillings.

Soon after the accident happened, friends and well wishers were called in to contribute for his medical expenses, and a fundraising concert was also held at the Nairobi Baptist church in a bid to reconcile funds.

This definitely came in handy for his surgery and medical expenses, but it seems that the entire bill was not sufficiently offset.

“Please continue to pray for and support the family. The hospital bill is very high and must be cleared as well, and of course there will be many other expenses. We'll keep you updated on the plans for the burial as things unfold. Thank you for standing with us.”  A close family representative mentioned.

In a bid to help contribute to the funds that shall cater for Bishop’s pending medical expenses up till he is laid to rest, well wishers are asked to send their contributions to:

MPESA PAY BILL: 430707

ACCOUNT NAME: Ben Bahati or

ACCOUNT NAME: Bahati Medical Fund  ACCOUNT NUMBER: 1159109605
