News of the passing on of Nzau Kalulu, an iconic radio and media figure were received with shock among many Kenyans.

Kalulu passed on Monday while undergoing treatment at Nairobi Hospital.

According to his father,Fredrick Mulinge Kalulu, the fallen renown radio personality succumbed shortly after 4.00pm at the hospital's Intensive Care Unit.

The former Royal Media Services employee has been battling with kidney failure that eventually triggered diabetes.

His sister Ndunge Kalulu donated one of her kidneys which was transplanted in an Indian hospital a couple of years ago.

The late Nzau Kalulu began his career at the State's broadcaster, KBC where he hosted the famous Sundowner programme.
