The rise and rise of one-night-stand

I know of fellars who are deep believers in consequences: in all perspectives of life. They will tell it to your face. Be it the choice of friends, your charming self, or simply cheating on your partner. One kept complaining about ‘chips fungaring’, the one-night-stand.

Agreeing with him, i do:  One-night-stand has become a phenomenon and has been on the rise in the recent past, especially in Nairobi. We saw it in movies with admiration (honestly), and now it’s at our doorstep and trust me, it’s not funny anymore.

I don’t know how exactly it happens, but yes panties are dropping like pins all in the name of one-night-stand!

Motivation

­­­What exactly motivates a guy in a relationship to go out on a one-night-stand with a woman: Mind you, he just met her in a pub 30 minutes ago?

 May be such men as a relationship writer describes:  “believe that turning their genitals into the physiological equivalent of a bus terminal would bring about a higher state of enlightenment and ultimately happiness to them”.

Well, the truth is; such people are doomed.

Flattery

Campbell, a sex education writer says in theHuman Nature journal, that women are not well adapted to promiscuity! The Kenyan ones, may defy this rule.

Anyway, she backs her claims with research conducted about the ‘vice’:  Te research was conducted to know what exactly drives people into one-night-stands. In the findings, the research stated: Often women say things like, 'I felt so flattered, so happy that he found me attractive. It was so nice to be wanted.’

Can you believe this? A man flatters her, and the next thing they know, they are making a fraction(If you get the drift) on a lodgings’ bed. It’s an easy, yet an irreversible, detrimental mistake.

According to the research, women were not hooking up in an effort to secure a long-term beau, but because they felt flattered by the overnight proposition.

It’s a lose-lose situation

You see, according to the law of one-night-stand (I made that up) guys just want what they want, while ladies have this false impression of flattery and a craving for feeling desirable to that man. So noone is being honest with the other.

In fact,one thinks she/he is using the other, but the real sense is, they are being used.

 Initially, it was said that women have much more to lose, while men are in a win-win situation. Well, that’s old now. Both have something to lose. What of the self-respect, what of the love for your partner who is home waiting for you to return from that ‘football match’.

Trending in Nairobi

Well, whatever the case, one-night-stand is a thing now in Nairobi. It’s trending big time, or so am told. When you are bored, make a way to a club, and ‘chips fungaring’ or being 'chips fungwad' will be such a possible way to end your night.

Forgive me for leading you astray, however, just go there, observe and  see it for yourself,  you will give a testimony to you pillow.

Morning after

You wake up in the morning, naked, then that realty hits you like a bombshell. You just messed up big time  bro. You start counting your curses. You are a done deal, you will be a haunted, until Kingdom come.

I cannot imagine, how many hearts are betrayed every Friday night.  Think about it.
