Gor Mahia faithful are the least impressed by latest news that their top striker Michael Olunga may be considering a move to Sweden.
According to Djurgårdens IF Fotboll Football Director Bosse Andersson, Olunga who was voted KPL’s 2015 Most Valuable Player deal to move abroad may have been done and dusted already.
“He will come here, it’s just not clear when. This is a player we have followed for long. We have eyed him for a long time and followed his development,” Andersson told the media, adding that, “Now we are simply trying to find a date that is suitable. We have talked to his club down there, and we’ve agreed. We have the green light from his club to talk to him and he’ll make the trip over here to meet us. Now we are working to resolve his visa details. He is a very exciting player.”
‘Engineer,’ as he is fondly known by fans, has maintained his calm amid the rumours, but the player is unlikely to turn down such an opportunity.
Gor Mahia have already lost striker Meddy Kagere who refused to extent his contact, instead asking for Sh6 million from the club. Kagere has since left Gor. With Olunga out, Jacob Keli and George ‘Black Berry’ Odhiambo will have to fire from all fronts for the reigning champions.
