When he released his new EP, ABUGAS, Yaro B could not hide his admiration for fellow rapper Octopizzo and took shots at other rappers.
"When you talk about hip hop in Kenya you cannot overlook Octo. He is different from most Rappers out here; he has dope punchlines, metaphors, how he invests in his music videos and his sense of fashion. He simply is the GOAT," Yaro says.
"Octopizzo is the only rapper that inspires me in the Kenyan hip hop scene. I have met with him, even gone on a tour with him and have seen his work ethic when it comes to music and business. There are only two rappers in Kenya - Octopizzo who is the 'King' of hip hop, and I am next in line. All these mainstream rappers need to emulate what Octopizzo is doing. Otherwise, they will be in for a rude surprise," he said.
Talking of ABUGAS; "this project is focused on telling people out there that nobody is perfect than you, so do not listen to anybody who is trying to put you down. This one goes to all those rappers who feel entitled and they are whack. The only rapper who I look up to is Octopizzo, the rest are below average. I will be the next big thing after Octo", he says.
His music can be described as catchy, with an on-beat rhythm and also a free tempo. Generally, he is more into rap and trap genres and tries to make music that is relatable to the people listening to him.
