YouTuber and rapper Diana Marua opened up on the struggles she faced when she was first employed. The digital content creator revealed that she once worked as a receptionist but was 'unfulfilled and unsatisfied,' saying she did not fully understand what she wanted in life at that point.
Taking to social media, Diana told her fans that when she got her first job in 2011, she was a dreamer, but something deep down always kept her going. However, Diana says she is not where she wants to be financially, adding that it'd been a difficult journey.
"I was a dreamer, I still I'm.... Dreaming to get to that destination of financial freedom. A day at a time, the truth is... It's hard but I keep pushing," she tweeted.
Narrating the experience of being a receptionist, Diana said she faced many challenges that shaped who she is today.
"2011... My first office job as a receptionist, I faced many challenges, ups and downs, Confused... I didn't know what I wanted in life. I was unsatisfied, unfulfilled but being here molded me to be the person I am today," she added.
The mother of two encouraged her fans to always believe in themselves, saying that everything will align in due time.
"Trust your journey, don't give up. It's part of the success equation. You are where you are supposed to be according to the universe," she tweeted.
Diana is not the only celebrity who has come out to speak about their humble beginnings. Recently, socialite Faith Makau aka Amber Ray, disclosed that she used to earn Sh13,000 per month working as a waitress at a casino.

“I was a waitress at a casino. Nilikuwa nakula kuku quarter na chips whether ikuwe asubuhi ama jioni,” said Amber Ray.
Amber stated that coming from a poor home meant she understood what it meant to lack basic needs, and she now appreciates where she is – a massive upgrade from some years back when she lived in a single room.
“Nilikuwa natamani kuku na chips ya town…I promised myself the day nitapata a good job I would spoil myself," she added.
However, Amber added that due to her work ethic (at the casino), she would make more money from tips that went over and beyond her salary and therefore settled her bills without a hassle.
