Comedian Jasper Muthomi aka MC Jessy on Wednesday officially joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) as he seeks the South Imenti parliamentary seat.

Jessy stated that he arrived at the decision after holding various consultative meetings with the people of South Imenti and he described UDA as the ‘winning team’.

He further revealed that he got a call from Deputy President William Ruto and he was more than convinced that he had made the right decision.

“It’s now clear where the vision is heading. After many days of consultative meetings with my South Imenti people I have officially been invited to join UDA. The groundwork that has been done has finally landed on the side of winning team.

“When I got the call from the chief Hustler Inviting me, I had to heed my People’s call and his call to join the winning Team…and may the work of redefining South Imenti now begin,” he wrote on social media.

A number of celebrities and entertainers have recently announced their plans to seek elective seats as the country heads towards the elections.

DNG

Having made his name in the entertainment scene back in the day as a singer and radio host, Davidson Ngibuini or DNG as he is popularly known, has set his sights on becoming the next Woodley/Kenyatta Golf Course MCA.

Speaking during an interview on Spice FM, DNG, who identifies with the United Democratic Alliance party (UDA), outlined the plans he has for the residents of his ward but also explained why he is no longer a fan of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He was part of the team of young people who campaigned for Uhuru in 2013 but is now a critic of the President’s leadership.

According to DNG, who, at the time, was a lead MC for the DundaNaUhuruto Campaign, as soon as the President ascended to power, he threw out key components of his manifesto and started bringing back the old guard.

Frasha

Francis Amisi aka Frasha is a household name in the entertainment industry and was part of Kenyan hip-hop group P-Unit which also comprised of Gabu and Bon-Eye.

Fast-forward to 2022, he is eyeing the MCA seat in Athi River and he says he has huge plans to transform his ward.

He stated that the shift to politics was in line with his passion to serve people in Athi River and he is particularly irked by a number of environmental issues in the area.

Asked about young leaders who get elected but end up being consumed by the system, Frasha stated that this mostly arises when one lacks a clear vision and plan.
