Is the recent controversial Mavuno Church poster causing tension among senior church leaders?

Heads Up has now learnt that even their associate church Nairobi Chapel was not entirely happy with the poster, which was seen by critics as lewd and explicit.

Pastor Oscar Muriu, a senior pastor in the church even apologised to a congregation at Nairobi Chapel, an associate of Mavuno Church.

“We all saw what happened these past days. Sometimes the youth can get carried away when running church matters,” said the pastor insinuating that some of the brains behind the poster included musician Kanjii Mbugua.

Kanjii on the other hand, claims that, as a church leader, he is in no position to deliver such mandates.

“I’m just a worship leader. There is no way I was involved in that. I however think that the church was right to make the poster,” Kanjii, who is releasing his new album Rauka in April, told Heads Up.
