Nairobi Governor Johnon Sakaja on Tuesday called for dialogue following protests by a section of Azimio supporters which brought business to a standstill in the Nairobi CBD.
Speaking during the launch of the second Rapid Results Initiative wave, Sakaja stated that the county collected Sh30.3million in revenue, which is half of the daily target.
The governor said a solution needs to be sought immediately because if the protests take place weekly a lot of revenue will be lost.
"We collected half of our daily revenue, 30.3 million, due to Azimio protests and we cannot sustain it should it be weekly.
"We need to have a dialogue on the protests," he said.
Further, Sakaja condemned the vandalism that was experienced in the city saying those caught on camera uprooting infrastructure will be charged.
ODM party leader Raila Odinga, on his part, maintained that he will not relent until the government lends him a listening ear.
Speaking while his motorcade made rounds in the outskirts of the city, Odinga said the high cost of living has made life unbearable and every Monday will be set aside for protests until there is change.

While making occasional stops to address his supporters, the opposition leader said Kenyans are suffering and the William Ruto administration has failed to honour its promises.
"We have seen this administration fail to implement even a single promise made to Kenyans. Instead, life has continued to be unbearable.
"The bloated cabinet will cost the taxpayer millions of shillings annually," he said.
Elsewhere, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua said the country lost over Sh2billion as a result of the protests that crippled businesses countrywide.
The DP, who was in Mombasa, urged the Azimio leadership to call off the protests and seek alternative means to air their grievances.
"What these people are doing is not good because the traders in Nairobi lost Sh2billion by noon.
"I am requesting that the organisers of the mass action call it off because it is not good for the investors," he said.
