Barry Burbank pulled the prank in protest because he's never given any coffee in the morning by his colleagues
Some people like a good cuppa in the morning - but this news meteorologist likes his UPSIDE DOWN.
Barry Burbank, of America's WBZ-TV in Boston, was on the news with anchor Kerry Connolly when the camera cut to the pair enjoying a cup of coffee.
But something was awry, as Barry's cup was actually empty and he was holding his mug upside down.
A viewer posted the photo on Reddit and a Twitter storm soon erupted, with people asking what had gone wrong.
It turns out Barry was actually pulling a prank because no-one ever puts coffee in his cup - or notices that he sometimes changes his tie several times during one broadcast.
“In the past on some mornings I say, ‘you know my cup is always empty nobody ever puts anything my cup,'” Barry joked.
“So I said 'let's go on the air and I’ll have my cup turned upside down and maybe see if people notice that the cup is upside down'. They always say that my cup is always empty, not just half full or half empty, it’s always empty, so there you go cheers.”
