A monster crocodile ate a defenseless 11-year-old boy alive as he was fishing with his parents.
Melas Mero’s legs, hands and one hip bone were found inside the four-metre croc after police tracked it down and killed it.
The lad’s head was found nearby and taken to a morgue.
The four-foot croc used his powerful tail to knock Melas over before snapping him up.
The lad had been fishing with his mum and dad on the banks of the Siloura River in Papua New Guinea on Thursday when the horror began.
Local police commander Lincoln Gerari told Papua New Guinea's National newspaper: “The crocodile swept the boy with its tail and then attacked the defenseless child.”
The attack is the second to take place in Papua New Guinea this year, after a man was killed by a croc on New Year’s Day.
A total of 75 croc attacks - 65 of which were fatal - have been recorded in Papua New Guinea since records began in 1958.
