My mother is not insane - Orie Rogo Manduli’s daughter

A few weeks ago, outspoken activist Orie Rogo-Manduli announced that she was ‘hunting’ for suitors for her two daughters.

 However, this came with a disclaimer warning drunkards and poor men to keep off her lovely angels. Most men dismissed Orie as a controlling mother.

But Orie’s daughter Janice Rogo has come out to defend her mother.

“No, she isn’t mad!” she said in an email sent exclusively to Heads Up.

“Let’s not pretend here. She simply said what any rational, well-meaning parent would tell their children, whether they are girls or boys. The only difference is that what she says makes news. If some of the readers who are postulating so loudly bothered to read the article, they would have note that my mother was categorical that she will “let her daughters write their own script.” Mind you, we always have and always will,” she added.

Contrary to what most people think, Janice claims that her mother is extremely liberal and far-sighted and not dictatorial at all!

“The whole brouhaha is laughable. A lioness “plays with her cubs” remember? She doesn’t bite. Who knows that better than we?”

Janice says she  wouldn’t want to engage with an alcoholic or a batterer.

“Ultimately, if I did, the fool would be me, no one else. So, if you fall in that category, she is absolutely right, stay away! I don’t know you, I don’t want you nor do I need you,” she concluded.
