I was to be buried today: Women 'resurrected' by Prophet Owuor

Mama Rosa is said to have died on the night of June 22 and intercessory prayers from Dr David Owuor brought her back to life

The woman who sent dusty Pokot villages into a celebratory dance after she was said to have resurrected is now recuperating at the Moi Referral Hospital in Eldoret.

X-Ray scans carried out on Mama Rosa Rotirakori revealed that she suffered from pneumonia and rheumatoid arthritis, according to radiologist Cornelius Chirchir who examined her. “The lung had a bit of fluid on the left and the bones had rheumatoid arthritis,” the radiologist told The Nairobian, adding that, “The other teams are still examining her.”

Mama Rosa is said to have died on the night of June 22 and that it is intercessory prayers from Dr Bishop David Owuor that brought her back to life. Since then, members of Prophet Owuor’s Ministry of Holiness and Repentance have been thronging Cheparten village in South Pokot in droves.

The Nairobian could not independently verify nor dispute the claims. But thousands of Kenyans rode in a convoy of more than 300 vehicles to witness what Dr Zachary Kasepoi, who doubles up as a bishop in West Pokot, said indeed was a miracle. The Nairobian reached out to Mama Rosa during thanksgiving prayers where she claimed that she had indeed died and resurrected. She advised Kenyans to repent.

“I was to be buried today, but I thank the Mighty Prophet Owuor for interceding for me. His prayers brought me back to life,” she said. Mama Rosa’s husband Samson Rotirakori narrated that, “My wife was very sick on June 22. She became very weak and experienced difficulty in breathing.”

He adds that the situation worsened and he reached out to Prophet Owuor through a senior pastor.

“Immediately after the phone call, she stopped breathing and stretched out her hands and legs,” he said, adding that, “At 12:51am, I received a text message from Prophet Owuor saying, “It is well.” Two hours later, Mama Rosa began coughing and sneezing and wanted to know who brought her back to the land of the living.

Dr Kasepoi explained that, “When a person dies, the muscles relax completely, a condition called primary flaccidity. The muscles then stiffen, because of a loss of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) from the body’s muscles. Without ATP, the muscles become stiff and inflexible. Rigor mortis begins within two to six hours of death.”
