A 20-year-old casual labourer has landed on the wrong side of the law for allegedly abducting university student and forcefully attempting to have sex with her.
Martin Oduor was accused abducting 19-year-old Janet Mbula on February 7. The offence is said to have taken place along Juja Road.
Police said Janet was heading home in a matatu from class. It is reported that when she alighted, she was accosted by Oduor and another man not before the court. The two allegedly forced her to the house of the accused which was not far from the road.
The court heard that the complainant sustained injuries on her hand and legs as the two tried to force her into the house.
In the house, it is said the accused demanded sex from Mbula, but she refused, leading to a scuffle.
Overpowered, the accused fell asleep at around 7pm and Janet took the opportunity to call for help.
Oduor denied the charges and was set free on a surety bond of Sh200,000. The case set to be heard on July 3.
