I grabbed Aburi by the balls, threw him on the floor like a sack of potatoes — Gladys Wanga

Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga is a no-nonsense legislator who does not suffer provocative men.

Recently, during a stormy Parliament session, she claims she pulled Tigania East MP Mpuru Aburi by his balls after he grabbed her breasts.

“So, today I arrive in Parliament and Jubilee have instructions to break my neck. As I find my place, Mpuru Aburi calls me names, spits in my face and begins to rain blows on my chest. Jubilee is desperate but we want them to know that we will NOT be cowed or intimidated,” Wanga posted on her Facebook page.

“He thought that I am a pushover. I grabbed him down there and threw him to the floor like a sack of potatoes before my colleagues came,”she claimed, adding that, “Omera amako ng’atno kamarach ma oluar mana elo. Koreka yawuoyi oluar kuome #GoreToDhi.”

Wanga told Aburi to respect women and avoid looking down on them.

“This Aburi man should know that where I come from, breasts are for feeding kids and not to be played around with. I am ashamed on his behalf. He should stop being a coward and face his fellow men. Real men don’t fight women,” she added.

But speaking to The Nairobian, Aburi denied attacking Wanga and blamed the fracas on Cord MPs.

“Look at my face. I was assaulted by the likes of Wanga,” he said pointing at his swollen and bruised face.

The Mps had been recalled for a special sitting on December 20 by House Speaker to amend the electoral laws that were passed about two months ago, a move that did not go down well with the opposition.
