I did not assault businesswoman inside police station- Former political aspirant Brian Weke

Wambui Chege claims Weke insulted her that she brags of having money and big buttocks, yet she used pills to enhance them.

Former aspirant for Embakasi West parliamentary seat, Brian Weke, has been accused by a businesswoman of assaulting and insulting her inside Buru Buru Police Station.

Wambui Chege claims Weke insulted her that she brags of having money and big buttocks, yet she used pills to enhance them.

Wambui told The Nairobian that she had gone to the police to follow on a matter regarding her family car which her husband had taken to a shylock friend, Kennedy Owalo as “security for a Sh200,000 loan” without her knowledge.

Wambui’s husband shared that Owalo had declined to return the car over delayed payments and that’s why she went to Buru Buru Police Station where she met Weke and Owalo - who had apparently been using the car, a Toyota Mark X.

“This forced me to report the matter at the Buru Buru Police Station around the same time, since the vehicle was mine, not my husband’s but nothing much was done by the police.” She claims that she had earlier spotted the car being driven by a tout along the Buru Buru number 58 route and asked police for assistance.

The car was impounded and the tout asked to bring the person who gave him the Mark X.

Wambui, Weke and Owalo all met at the station on September 23 and attempts to have her terminate and sort the case elsewhere apparently led to the insults from Weke when she demanded to know his role in the matter.

A police officer privy to the goings on said that “the incident happened and we are now investigating, but it could probably end as civil case because the matter involves the woman’s husband.”

Contacted, Weke distanced himself from the matter, arguing that he never assaulted or insulted Wambui.

“That woman is nuts and a con. In fact, her hubby gave out the vehicle and took Sh680,000 from him (Owalo) and started intimidating the young man for nothing,” said Weke, who added that, “That day, I had gone as negotiator after I was called by the businessman over the matter, but I did not insult or assault her. I cannot even do that because I’m a women’s rights activist. Further, I knew the husband but I had never met her”.

Weke claims that Wambui has been intimidating hapless neighbours using her money. “It is wrong in the first place that they reported to police that the vehicle was stolen. They gave out wrong information to the police and ought to be arrested.”
