Naked Kiambu MCA asked to pay Sh100,000 ‘dowry’

Catherene Wanjiku(right), a mother of three, told the court that she had an affair with Kiganjo MCA Samuel Mwarage in 2014, but the County Assembly legislator refused to pay for ‘services rendered’ and slapped her.

A mitumba clothes dealer from Kiambu is facing robbery with violence charges in court after a ‘Mukurino MCA’ was allegedly attacked in her house by a man claiming to be her husband.

Catherene Wanjiku, a mother of three, told the court that she had an affair with Kiganjo MCA Samuel Mwarage in 2014, but the County Assembly legislator refused to pay for ‘services rendered’ and slapped her.

“My friend who was passing by found us fighting. He asked the MCA who was naked to dress up, pay for the services and leave my house in peace. But he (MCA) instead slapped me a second time,” she told the court, adding that, “It is very painful for a man you are having a relationship with to drag you to court after he has had a good time.”

Wanjiku claimed the MCA would pay Sh500 or Sh1,000 for her services, but this time he had agreed to part with Sh20,000, only to refuse to pay up, leading to the fight.

Mwarage however told the court that he met Wanjiku on November 25, 2014 at a hotel in Kiambu, and that after discussing business matters, she invited him to her house to sample a few clothes she was selling.

That is how Mwarage claims he ended up in the suspect’s house.

While in the house, the MCA claims that two men armed with pangas, and a woman dressed in the traditional Mukurino regalia stormed the house and ordered them to undress and lie on the floor.

“One of the men declared that Wanjiku was his wife,” claimed Mwarage, adding that the man accused him of fornication, before cutting him on his shoulder with a panga.

The MCA claims they were forced to take off their clothes in one of the bedrooms, where the man took their pictures and threatened to send them to media houses.

“He told me that I needed to repay him his dowry since I was sleeping with his wife, and demanded Sh100,000 which I did not have at the moment,” said Mwarage who claims he only had Sh23,000 on him.

“He said the least he could take was Sh50,000. I asked to call a friend of mine to send us the remaining Sh30,000,” said the MCA, narrating to the court how the other woman identified as Millicent Wairimu — who was dressed like a Mukrino — kept threatening to cut off his manhood for sleeping with another man’s wife’.

“She kept asking the others to let her cut off my manhood, all this time, we were still naked and on the floor.”

The commotion attracted neighbours, forcing the suspects to escape.  The case was adjourned to September 9.
