Governor Mutua and his deputy accuse each other of being corrupt ‘sex pests’

Mutua versus Kiala
Governor Mutua (left) and his deputy Kiala (right) have publicly accused each other of corruption

The war between Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua and his deputy, Bernard Kiala has taken a new twist. This is after the two openly traded sex and corruption barbs.

While addressing the media in his office, Mutua accused Kiala of “using his office to divert government resources for personal use and to demand sexual favours from innocent, struggling girls.” Mutua added that, “We have forwarded our evidence to relevant authorities. Mimi nimeshindwa kabisa kufanya kazi na mtu ambaye najua anaiba. Mtu ambaye najua anaitisha wasichana watoe suruali ndio wapate kazi,” said Mutua.

Mutua claimed Kiala was influencing the awarding of tenders to companies associated with him and his cronies.

Kiala called a press conference and in equal venom, dismissed his boss as amorous, saying when it comes to sex exploits, Mutua was in a class of his own. “Mutua lives in a glass house. He cannot be the one to throw stones,” Kiala said, adding that after running out of public relations gimmicks, the governor had resorted to insults and “If he has evidence that I have stolen even a pencil, let him record a statement.”

The deputy governor said he was saddened to work with an “incompetent governor” who “has built a PR empire on quick sand which is now crumbling” besides being insincere about fighting corruption, claiming that Mutua was shielding a syndicate of corrupt blue-eyed officials who were stealing ‘openly.’
