Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka (pictured) is not impressed by the Deputy County Commissioner of Tseikuru, Paul Merinyang. He has accused him of conniving with drug peddlers and traditional alcohol brewers and turning local youth into zombies.

The former VP said  that when Merinyang was posted to the station late last year, he called him to his house.

“I just wanted to get to know him, but he snubbed my invitation and went on to broadcast my number to his fellow drunkards,” Kalonzo said.

“As a matter of courtesy, I invited him to my house through a telephone conversation, but instead, alienda akiambia walevi wenzake kwa bar, ‘Ona vile kananipigia simu niende kwake.’ Huyo ni DC ama ni mkora? Aende mara moja.” Kalonzo made the claims at a rally in Tseikuru market.

He also accused Merinyang of mishandling the distribution of relief food.

“Hatuwezi kukaa na DC wa aina hii,” said Kalonzo, who got support from Kitui senator David Musila and Ngomeni Ward rep Nzungi Ngwele, both of whom promised to organise a mass demonstration to kick out the administrator.

Musila described the deputy commissioner as a clown who does not know how to gather intelligence on security matters.

“When I was a DC and PC, I couldn’t miss a rally where politicians were because that is where you gather information and intelligence. Huyu wenu ni DC sampuli gani? Labda anakunywa pombe huko town (What sort of a DC is this, he is most likely drinking in town),” Musila said.

I dare you to resign: Former VP to Munuve

In other news, the former VP has expressed disappointment in Mwingi North MP, John Munuve Mati. The Wiper party leader accused Munuve of “behaving like a hippopotamus who feeds on both sides of the river bank.”

“You should even be thankful to my wife who campaigned for you for three straight nights without sleep. You don’t pay back such gesture by being a traitor,” Kalonzo told Munuve who has in the past been accused of leaning to the Jubilee side. He even dared the rebel MP to quit and join Jubilee.

A few weeks ago, the Deputy County Commissioner, with the help of a contingent of Administration and Kenya Police officers, quashed a demo against his administration. Munuve came to the defence of the DC and threatened to personally deal with those who “will dare to confront the public administrator.”

“I have heard people here speak against the DC and they are happy because people have clapped for them. But I’m telling you this...if you are man or woman enough, rise against the DC and you will have to deal with me,” Munuve said while emphasising his point with a clenched fist in open defiance of his party leader.

Famed for his abrasiveness, Munuve took on Ngomeni Ward rep Nzungi Ngwele and accused him of being “a deadbeat politician”. He said that he taught the MCA English and Literature in high school where the MCA was “a below-average student”.

The MP said there is a procedure to transfer public servants and no one can force the DC to leave his post through mass action.
