Francis Omondi has been consecrated as the second Bishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya, Diocese of Garissa. Omondi, who has served the Anglican Church for 30 years, pledged to work for the people of Garissa with dedication and strength.
"I give myself to you, I offer you my service and my leadership, my energy and my gift. I also offer myself in faith, hope and in love," Omondi said during the installation.
Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit, who presided over the ceremony, congratulated Omondi and expressed confidence in his leadership.
"Join us in serving the Anglican people as the servant of the people, not a boss. Be mindful of the people and their needs," Sapit said.
He also thanked Omondi's family for supporting his service to the people of Garissa.
Omondi succeeds Rev. David Ngangi Mutisya, who retired last October after dedicating his life to the ministry.
Mutisya was celebrated for his commitment to the Anglican community during his retirement service.
