Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju has broken the silence disputing allegations circulating on social media that he was arrested and detained in Tanzania, include 3 other Kenyans. An allegation that even the Tanzanian government profusely refuted.
When the Standard Digital team reached out this morning, a calm Tuju jokingly said that “I am not in jail, in fact you can come buy me some tea and mandazi.”
Tuju who had been in Kigali, Rwanda over the weekend on official business returned to the country on Sunday, 17 December.
Asked if he was aware who was behind the allegations, Tuju said that “there are people who thrive on rumours and propaganda but sadly, there is nothing we can do about it.”
Since the end of the October 26 repeat presidential poll, Tuju has been out of the public limelight prompting a series of grapevines on his whereabouts.
