A 14-year-old boy, who was allegedly sodomised by a security guard, could have been gay, a city court has heard.

Police said the boy must have had a secret relationship with Julius Mulwa, a security guard at Blessings Children’s Home in Njiru.

They further claimed Mulwa must have duped the boy that gay sex could make him bright in school.

Mulwa has been charged with sodomising the boy on September 29.

According to police, the boy had been skipping the home’s Sunday church services after the accused warned him of dire consequences.

On September 26, the boy was reported to have left class around 8am and spent the day in the guard’s house, where Mulwa is suspected to have first sodomised the child. Mulwa was arrested on October 3 after the boy was treated at a hospital near the orphanage.

He denied the charge and was released on Sh100,000 bail.

The case will be heard on January 26.
