Prophetess Akatsa and members of her Church march carrying walking sticks and crutches.
Self-proclaimed Prophetess Mary Akatsa and members of her Jerusalem Church of Christ carried walking sticks, crutches and wheelchairs left last year by people the Prophetess had prayed for and got ‘healed’.
The march through Muslim and Gatina Villages in Kawangware on November 10 was a congregation stretching nearly three kilometres.
It included drunkards, hardcore criminals, prostitutes and street boys who converted to Christianity.
“They have been claiming that ‘Mummy’ (herself) died here. This is the work of God I have done for many years,” said Mummy, Mama Africa and Dada Mary, as the adherents refer to Mary Sinaida Akatsa Mulinge.
“Some have been claiming that I purchased this tool to show off that I can perform miracles. They are all lies. There is none like Mummy of all tribes and for the whole world sent by God to serve everybody,” charged Prophetess Akatsa who rose to fame in 1986 when she claimed to have brought Jesus Christ to Nairobi.
Two weeks ago, she clarified to The Nairobian that the ‘Jesus’- who appeared to be of Indian extraction - was just a visitor who had attended prayers at her church, like everyone else.
During the march, one youth, a former criminal, said he left a life a crime after ‘Mummy’ prayed for him.
