To date, many still call her Jolene owing to the role she played as a high school student in the Tahidi High show but years later Jackie Matubia has evolved right in front of our screens. She had been among the lucky who got acting roles soon after high school, an opportunity that many young people would love.
Born and Raised in Kawangware, Jolene was born the first born in a family of three and this naturally groomed her as a role model to her younger siblings. She attended Lavington Primary School for Primary, and then went ahead to Gathirimu Girls for her Secondary School.
It was there that she discovered and explored her acting skills. Fortunately, she scored a role in the Tahidi high series where she played the “mean girl” role after actress Shish left. The experience definitely opened her up to the world of opportunity.
She then became a television presenter in one of the local televisions. Every Saturday she would present the Extreme live alongside Dj Crème which was a dream come true for her.
“For the longest time I had wanted to be a television presenter and now my chance was here!” She told SDE.
This opened a new phase and new interests in her life as she was now able to learn all about hosting and running an entertainment show. After leaving Tahidi High school, she recently joined Ebru TV where she has been anchoring for a while now.
Aside from work, Jolene is set to be a mom soon. She recently unveiled her baby bump.
“I would like to run my own television station in future!” she mentioned when asked about her future aspirations.
With such zeal and determination, Jolene is a role model to many youths, and the reason she is our WCW.
