In an era where television shows make our days, and social media drives the conversations, it is hard to miss the fun! Confident and bubbly is what Chero Oywa and her television presence is top notch.

Besides Bomet being her hometown, Chero was raised in the United States where she spent most of her teenage life. A steady career, friends and family, her life took a twist when she came back to her mother land and fell in love. “I came on a trip and fell in love with Kenya because the people were warm and life wasn’t as fast like in the states.” She told SDE.

Impressively, before coming to Kenya she had just cleared a course in medicine at the Montgomery College in Maryland. Perhaps she would have been a doctor had she not travelled back, but how did she end up on television.

“Soon after coming to Nairobi, I used to turn up so hard till it got boring. This one time I decided to go to Mavuno Church for a service and that was when my love for the arts and screens started.” She added.

Fast forward to her wedding that got featured on Samantha Bridal and Chero got the opportunity to have her fairy tale wedding. Besides that, the Samantha bridal team was so impressed by her skills that they called her back to host a show that was set to premier on KTN. During this time the KTN crew saw her potential and called her in to host E-Curve show alongside Mike Makori with who they were quite the duo.

Today, she doubles up as a television presenter and producer for the Str8-up show, a role she clearly loves. As a role model to many young people, Chero’s advise to anyone hoping to become a presenter is: “Always have you’re a game on and stay ready so that you don’t have to get ready when opportunity avails itself.” On that note she is our WCW today.,
