'Mulamwah dumped me,' Carrol Sonie opens up on break up with comedian

News
Carrol Sonie says Mulamwah dumped her.

Comedian Mulamwah and actress Carol Muthoni, popularly known to her fans as Carrol Sonie, have both confirmed they are no longer an item.

Setting the record straight during an interview with Milele FM, Sonie stated that Mulamwah dumped her and admitted to being in the wrong.

"Ni yeye (Mulamwah) ndio aliniacha… kukosea nilikosea but we move," said Sonie before the interviewer prompted her to speak about what she did that led to the split.

"Hamna, ni makosa tu ya kawaida," continued Sonie when asked if she cheated or flirted with someone else.

Sonie, who welcomed a baby girl with Mulamwah barely three months ago, said she asked for forgiveness, but the comedian insisted he couldn't continue the relationship.

Two days ago, the actress took to her Instagram and announced their break up, saying they amicably decided to go their separate ways after four years of dating.

"This is to make it clear that mulamwah and I are no longer together. We have both agreed and decided to part ways for reasons best known to us. Thank you so much for the love and support you gave us for those 4years, I personally don't take it for granted," wrote Sonie and later thanked the comedian and her fans for supporting her journey.

The news came hardly a week after netizens noticed the couple had unfollowed each other on their social media pages, a move that sparked breakup rumours.

Despite netizens referring to their breakup as 'clout chasing', Mulamwah denied the claims, saying they chose to go their separate ways a long time ago.

"Don't be too quick to judge neither me, Carrol for our actions and choices maybe one day it will all unfold open and you'll get the clear picture of what really transpired, it's not easy to just step out without solid reason," said Mulamwah on his Instagram while confirming the break up.

"Instead of mockery, laughter and trolls, pray for us, this is quite a lot for us to go through now, you never know who could be next. We don't clout - (as you call it)- on such sensitive matters involving lives."

It’s only been days since the break up announcement and Mulamwah seems to have moved on already.

Barely 24 hours after Sonie’s post, the comedian took to Instagram and posted a picture posing intimately with an unidentified lady and captioned, "To new beginnings, rely upon the heart ♥?. Let the dust settle now.”

He later shared a video of the said lady in a different post and hinted that he is only following his heart.

"We will talk about everything when we find the time. There is a lot. For now, rely upon the heart,” he wrote.

However, this is not the first time the celebrity couple has publicly announced they were no longer together. About a year ago, Mulamwah and Sonie went their separate ways only to reconcile a few months later and start a family.

In their first break up post, Mulamwah explained that the decision to break up was anything but easy.

"This was not an easy decision to make, especially at this point in my life. It has been a tough year already for me, and for both of us too, almost losing everything. All this happening now has been synergised and augmented by the recent 'anthology' of events best known to us," wrote Mulamwah.
