Happy Hour: King Kaka launches EP after months of poor health

King Kaka officially launched his EP dubbed ‘Happy Hour’ on Tuesday evening at an invite only event in Kilimani, Nairobi.

The ‘Wajinga Nyinyi’ singer, who was accompanied by his wife Nana Owiti to the event, expressed his gratitude for the gift of life and appreciation to everyone present.

“I consider this to be my second birthday as it is the day that I release 'Happy Hour', my EP. I am grateful that I am of good health and this EP is a celebration of life,” said an elated King Kaka.

The musician said he had been ailing for months, losing 33 kilograms in the process.

"Dear fans, it's only right that I share this with you. I have been sick for three months 8 days now. I was misdiagnosed. Lost 33kgs and in the process we started hospital visits, did all the tests and they were Negative funny thing is I feel no pain and we are still hopeful that we will get the solution soon," narrated the musician.

King Kaka has been sharing bits of his story and photos taken while he was still ill as a way of keeping his fans up to date with his health progress. The rapper, who had taken some time off music made his comeback on October 29 at the launch of Coca Cola’s new campaign dubbed ‘Real Magic’.

Kaka who showed up looking dapper explained to the cheering audience how he had to push his EP release date from October 1 to November 30 due to his health.

“I had originally planned on releasing Happy Hour in October 1 but due to my health I had to push it further to today. My wife had to grace the cover to my EP as I appeared thin after doing photoshoots that were originally meant for the cover to the EP”, he said. ?

Kaka has dropped his first single today off his new EP featuring Wakadinali. The song, ‘Pull Up’ produced by Ricco Beats gives a glimpse into the typical life in the hood when you pull up to your homies and just have a good time.
