The singing duo of Raych and Alexis, previously known as Linda is set for a relaunch on July 11 as they unveil their new name, Nadra. According to the singers, they will perform songs from their new EP Love Teaser at the event going down at Onyx Lounge along Ngong Road.

“Bearing in mind COVID 19, the event venue has been disinfected and will be sterilized after every 10 minutes. The tables will bear in mind the 1metre apart guidelines and attendees will be required to wear masks at all times,” a statement from Nadra read.

Beginnings

The singer-songwriter duo was first launched in 2017 as Linda and are known for their stirring performances.

“We credit the continued guidance from mentors who are leaders in the music industry for our swift progress,” said the duo.

Within a year of their debut, the artists were already getting shows at local events while regularly releasing song covers on YouTube.  Some of their best renditions include performing Swahili covers to classics such as Baby Baby by Brandy and All Night (Mpaka Che) by Mary J Blige.

To date, the girls have performed twice at the Koroga Festival alongside acts like D’banj, Fally Ipupa, Eric Wainana, Dan Aceda, Kansoul and Nairobi Horns Project. They have also curtain-raised for award-winning hip-hop artist Khaligraph Jones.

Rebranding

In 2018, Raych and Alexis had a fallout with Robert Waweru’s Linda Entertainment promoting their exit. A year later, they rebranded to Nadra after joining Asha’s Entertainment owned by Asha Mutuku. Nadra is a Swahili word meaning rare.

Their debut EP love teaser is made up of four tracks featuring several producers among them Ihaji who has produced for household names like Nadia Mukami and Otile Brown.
