Bobbi Kristina, Whitney Houston's daughter, dies at the age of 22

Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown has died following her six month battle to live after she was found unconscious in the bath at her home.

In a heart-breaking statement, the Houston family announced she had passed away on Sunday at the Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia, surrounded by her loved ones - including her father, singer Bobby Brown.

It read: "She is finally at peace in the arms of God," the Houston family said in statement. ?"We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months."

Pat Houston, Whitney's sister, added: "Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away Sunday, July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family.

Bobbi Kristina died after succumbing to injuries she sustained after drowning in a bath just like her tragic mum. She was rushed into intensive care suffering from severe brain damage.

Her boyfriend Nick Gordon, along with his friend, Max Lomas, discovered the 22-year-old unconscious performing CPR on her before calling paramedics who rushed her to hospital.

There she was placed in an induced coma in an attempt to save her life however they failed to overcome the complications telling Bobbi Kristina's there was nothing more they could do.

Doctors believed she had been under water for up to eight minutes starving her brain of oxygen and leaving her unable to regain consciousness.

Her death came just months after the third anniversary of her mother’s. Whitney was found unconscious when she accidentally drowned in a bath tub at the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel in February 2012. She too was face down when a member of her security team found her unconscious. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office later confirmed the 48-year-old passed away as a result of drowning and 'effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use’.

Since Bobbi Kristina was found, police in Atlanta have launched criminal investigation into the circumstances which caused her injuries. Both sides of her family have accused Gordon of abusing her while police are looking into reports the couple had a violent argument before she was found in the bath.

Two weeks ago the 25-year-old was officially served with legal papers for a $10 million lawsuit, accusing him of being violent towards Bobbi Kristina. He is also accused of stealing from her as she lay fighting for her life.

Gordon, who has now left Roswell near Atlanta where he was living with Bobbi Kristina to move to his mother’s in Florida was filmed leaving a Starbucks in Longwood, near Orlando, when he was given the documents by a process server.

The lawsuit, which was filed in June, claims: “Even after Brown's hospitalisation, and while she was in a coma, [Gordon] accessed Brown's bank accounts) and stole in excess of $11,000 from Brown's bank account(s).”

Throughout her time in intensive care and more lately in an Atlanta hospice controversy has surrounded Whitney’s daughter and the two sides of her warring family.

Her father, singer Bobby Brown, 46, who became a father again last week when wife Alicia Etheredge gave birth to a daughter, and his relatives have been at constant loggerheads with Whitney’s mum, Cissy and the singer's sister Pat.

The sick move led to many family members being barred from her bedside with each side accusing one another of being responsible for the picture being taken.

Throughout her childhood Bobbi Kristina was forced to endure her parents volatile 14-year relationship as they battled drug addiction watching them blow millions of dollars to fund their habits. The couple's former chauffeur, Al Bowman, said he watched his employers openly smoke crack cocaine in front of their daughter as she grew up.

Previous reports claimed Bobbi Kristina began experimenting with drugs at one point sharing the same drug dealer as her mother.

A source said: “Throughout her entire life Krissi was surrounded by drugs. During her parents relationship she saw first-hand their battles against addiction. The path Krissi was shown during her life was not the one any child should have to be shown by their parents. Krissi just couldn’t cope. It haunted her and instead of getting better, it made worse. At least she is with her Whitney now."

Bobbi Kristina's cousin Jerod Brown told how she was determined to become a successful singer before she died, and was about to release her first single, Guilty. Jerod, 27, also spoke of how depressed and suicidal she had become since her mother's death, saying: " “She was very depressed, she would call me often and say she was dealing with her mum. She would say, ‘She’s heavy on my heart."

Two days after the first anniversary of Bodyguard star's death in 2013, Bobbi Kristina was pictured being taken from her then home in Los Angeles on a stretcher unconscious. She was hospitalised for treatment, after mixing alcohol with a sedative.

In February 2011 she was caught on video snorting what was alleged to be cocaine at a party. Following her mum’s death a year later it was reported she was caught getting high after the funeral and a memorial service. Last July she was pictured lighting up what appeared to be a drugs bong and smoking cannabis. She denied the photo was hers. "I've never posted any photo of me doing anything! This is someone trying to tarnish and make a horrible name for MYSELF. People are insane," she Tweeted.

Bobbi endured an often explosive relationship with her parents. In March 2008 when she was 15-years-old she reportedly tried to stab her mother before attempting to slit her own wrists, and, was subsequently admitted to a psychiatric ward.
