Two journalists were arrested in a dramatic fashion during an interview on Friday.
The Star showbiz columnist Grace Kerongo and The Nairobian gossip girl Cate Mukei were interviewing Benjy Onyango, who is closely associated with the Longomba showbiz family, when a girl came in with bulky built security guards who then started manhandling Benjy.
They then pushed him and the reporters into the lifts accusing them of taking photos at the premises. The reporters were locked in a tiny room for two hours before police men were called in to scrutinise them.
“All this time, one security guard who identified himself as Ishmael Njiru was threatening to impound our phones and cameras,” Cate told MondayBlues.
They were later released before being escorted out of the hotel.
