Rumours that news anchor Eric Njoka is gay were as a result of an extortion racket, according to the K24 news anchor.

Speaking with Sarah Ibrahim in a candid interview about his love life, Njoka narrated that he was framed in a grand scheme that was orchestrated by an unnamed man in collaboration with a friend and colleague.

Njoka disclosed that the individual created a fake profile of him and demanded Sh60, 000, failure to which he would expose photos of the journalist.

“This is back in 2016, some guy just decided that this time I am going to get some money from this n***a who looks like he is so moneyed, and this anchor who looks so flamboyant.

“So what does he do? He collaborates and corroborates with a friend and colleague in one of the universities here in town.

The extortionist went ahead to demand money so as not to release doctored photos. Njoka however, shrugged off demands from the man thinking he was going to walk away.

“I never cared about blogs. I said whatever, do what you gotta do. I thought he was playing with me. It’s a person I have never met, it’s a guy I have never met, It’s a person I have never even interacted with.

The man responded, according to Njoka, “Usiponipea hio pesa nitakuanika”

“They really wanted to get cash off me and I refused. If I am gay or not, it’s none of your concern. My concern and my biggest worry is that we let him in and we took his side of the story. I never spoke about it because there was nothing to speak about. I never told anybody about this because there was nothing to tell,” said Njoka.

The anchor also went ahead to declare that he has no intention of settling down.

“To all the people who have been asking, yes I am a bachelor and I am a proud bachelor. And I would love and I would like and I am planning to stick to the bachelor side for the rest of my life.”
