Popular Tanzanian musician Jessie Q who died on Saturday, April 6 at Mwananyamala Hospital in Dar es Salaam will be laid to rest today in Morogoro, Tanzania.
The songstress passed on after developing complications a few hours after giving birth to her baby boy.
The news of her death was announced by The House Of Talent producer Rehema Jones, where she was signed as a singer.
Her demise has taken a toll on the Tanzanian entertainment industry as she was a promising musician with a bright music future.
Jolie, Jessie Q’s younger sister spoke very briefly during the wake of her sister and appreciated The House Of Talent family for the support during this trying time.
“Namshukuru Mungu kwa sababu ni mipango yake kwani sisi binadamu hatujui nini kitatokea, hiyo ni siri kubwa. Ila nashindwa kuamini kwa hili. hata hivyo nawashukuru wana THT kwa ushirikiano wao na pia wote ambao wameungana nasi katika kipindi hiki kigumu. Sitaweza kuwataja wote mmoja-mmoja kwa kuwa ni wengi,”she said.
Many musicians from all parts of Tanzania gathered to pay their last respect to the singer before she is laid to rest.
Jessie Q, real name, Jesca Edward Mahohi has done a number of hit songs with the most recognizable being her collabo with fellow Tanzanian artist Madee on the song Mapenzi Kamali.
